Quadrupled my CTR!
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you may be seeing some changes in my ad placements. Here’s the good news: I just QUADRUPLED my CTR. Yes, that’s right, quadrupled.
Ok, want to know the secret? No problem! I’ll tell you the factors that I have seen that quadrupled my CTR.
- 160 x 600 Sky Scraper banner – Yes, most of my clicks came from that ad on the sidebar.
- Changed the colors – I have been testing on some colors, which works best, and which doesn’t. And as I have observed, the colors that blends the theme works best.
- Image ads don’t work – I have tried it, but failed. Not working for me.
- Colors beside the ads – You can see that my ads after the single posts page have 4 different colors that may attract the eyes of the readers (I got this from Joel Comm)

Lime 2.0: Sleek Web 2.0 Cutting Edge WordPress Theme
I don’t know why, but I made another WordPress Theme! But with a little twist of limey green (Is that right? ), black and white. I haven’t found a good header for it so I just created my own.

Well, you’re maybe familiar of my review my blog and get a linkback contest? Well, I was egosurfing this hot day of summer and found out that I’m on the first page of the keyword “review his blog� I know I won’t benefit on that keyword but I just like to show you how powerful anchor texts is! I mean I only got 8 (I think ) anchor text with the keyword “review his blog� and guess what? I’m on top 3, next to John Chow and Guy Kawasaki!

What I am saying is, anchor texts are extremely important. So, choose an anchor text that has many searches but fewer competitors. Check out this tool that I often use to determine the details of a certain keyword.
