I Have Traffic and I Want $$$ - 6 Things Publishers Should Know When Selling Advertisements

By Carl on August 12, 2007

This is a continuation of “What advertisers should know when advertising“?

If you have a popular website, you also have bills to pay (hosting, advertising, maintenance Costs, etc…) You don’t want to lose your money that way, that’s why there’s Google AdSense, Text Link Ads, ReviewMe and a lot more to help you pay the bills and also, produce you a nice income.

But are you aware that there are also Private deals, most advertisers are looking for these because there’s no middleman involve so it’s much cheaper. Just imagine Text Link Ads and ReviewMe that eat HALF of the money the advertiser pays you. So they have to push the prices a little higher just to pay the publisher a good sum of money.

That’s why I compiled here a list on what publishers should know or should have when selling advertisements on their websites.

1. Enough Traffic References

Like what I mentioned in the…

And I Thought Google Doesn’t Allow Link Buying

By Carl on August 10, 2007

Remember the time when SEO’s were going crazy? But what about this, could this be crazier? FYI, The Google Checkout blog has a PR of 8 (Just imagine where a link there would take you!) and “what if”? they are selling links with YOUR desired anchor text. Oh yea, Remember, they give deep links too ;)

Sounds impossible?

Now take a look at this snip from the Google Checkout blog:

In addition, Google Checkout helps make it even easier for consumers to find us when they search for items like Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls by displaying the Google Checkout badge next to our search results. Ultimately Golfballs.com has seen an increase in revenue through the combined efforts of Google Product Search and Google Checkout.

Smell something

Smells like a paid Review for me. Heh…

So how much was the review then? Any takers? Well, honestly, if they sell paid reviews for even thousands of $$$, I’ll bet LOADS…

Continuation of this article is here.

Advertising, the internet will have no meaning without it. Today I’m gonna talk about Advertisers, what you need to know when advertising on a website.

When I plan to advertise on a website, my dad always asks me TONS of things, A LOT of times! Sometimes I get frustrated, but if you just think about it. It’s actually right.

He always double check triple checks stuff, even the smallest things. That’s why I came up with this post, Just want to share what I learned from my Dad, “The Greatest” ;)

Who Said Something About Video Reviews?

By Carl on August 5, 2007

Just got up this morning, and yes, doing my daily routine of checking my emails. Normally I get those link exchange request, “are you 14″ like comments, etc. Though this guy, Charles Lau do know how to stand out with his Review.

Who said something about doing a video review for my blog? Now that is just darn unique! No offense to others but If you watch Charles review, you’ll see how serious and he is when doing it. Check it out:

Here’s a snip from my fave part:

There is almost no flaw I can talk about in this review. Just that he might face problems of those egoistic adults who think that he is too young to do a business. I used to face that when I started my physical business in 2003 at the age of 23. Even at my age, people around me keep on persuading me to go for…
