My Humiliating Slap To My Greatest Enemy
If you're new here, you really should subscribe to my blog's Full RSS feed for FREE! You don't want to miss informative posts! Thanks!
Just after new year, you may have recalled the 4 posts/7 days challenge. Basically, the challenge is for me to post 4 articles in 7 days – with a little twist, you “help” out by encouraging me. The best encouragements win a copy of Ultimate Blogging Theme…
It was hard.
I’ve lost momentum so it was hard to deal with the challenge, to deal with my greatest enemy…
Me.
And I couldn’t have done it without you. So here are the winners of the mini contest we had last last week.
Congratulations And Thanks
AJ Kumar – I got to know AJ because of that wonderful comment he left that day.
John Rodica – Touching.
Simon – This photoshop trigger happy just sticked out like a sore thumb with this.
Melvin – He just said what I was thinking. Really hit me.
I’ve sent an email to you guys with the download link to the theme – enjoy!
I’ll keep the momentum going, here’s to my first post this week ;-)
Adopt A Blog Post, Exoskeletons, Contests – It’s Linkbombing Time!
Adopt a Blog Post – Video Campaign
I just don’t get it! How does Dean came up with these out of the world ideas?
Here’s how it works. You “adopt” a blog post from DeanHunt.com by making a video presentation of it and uploading it on YouTube. Of course you must start your video with your name, website and the blog post of Dean that you are adopting.
Why Bother?
Not only will this get you some lovely free promotion, potentially tons of YouTube and DeanHunt.com traffic for your website, I will also donate $1 to the BestFriends.org sponsor a pet program for EVERY single video published.
5 Bionic Exoskeleton Suits of the Future
On my way to bed after watching Iron Man last April 30, I saw this realistic article bout some attempts to copy Iron Man’s suit. I love it when pop culture influences people – especially the military!
MacBook Airs + $1,000 Giveaway
Looks like someone threw away a contest that will bury my chocolates, cakes and information products… interesting ;-)
The reason why I’m having a new contest is because I decided to experiment a bit with a new strategy into my blogging here at Bloggin-Ads. So far I’ve been keeping everything consistent with new posts everyday and focusing more on the blogging topic. The best way to get the word out about my new blogging methods is by starting a contest.
Greatest Domaining Blogging Contest Ever
Highest cash prize is $700, looks like the title lives up to its promise!
Guess who’s someone special is in the list – man, I gotta stop these ego strokes! Haha.

Internet Marketing Strategies Before (Link Building) and After (Traffic Building)
Here’s a rather entertaining article about internet marketing before and after – and what Arnold looks then and now ;-)
One thing that I’ve observed though, today’s new marketing techniques are much harder to outsource – not because it’s hard to do, but because it requires creativity. i.e. link baiting, viral videos, etc.
7 Bullet-Proof Ways To Waste Your Internet Marketing Time
Another entertaining post for the day (We need entertainment aye?). Here’s the one that hit me…
3. Do your monotonous tasks while you’re fresh. You should avoid writing content while your alert – stick to the monotonous stuff (link building, etc.) during those times to destroy your chances at productivity. Come back when your brain is too wasted to write content – that way it will take three times the work to complete something worthwhile.
How does a google bot look like? 10 sightings
ANOTHER entertaining post compiling different personas of Google bot.
Hint: I have a big surprise for all of you related to Google bot next month. Watch out!

The Blog Monetization Strategies E-book
This ebook has been been launched last month but due to my horribly busy schedule, I only had time today to share this striking report from Matt Jones.
Go get it, it’s worth the read.
How To Make Money Giving Away Your Free Ebook
Yep, give it away and get rich still exists! Free ebook my Dr. Mani.
It seems like someone overtook our $8,907.83. Check out Gyutae Park’s contest.
Domain Lookup Firefox Extension
I’m not a big fan of domaining but this tool seems pretty useful. With just a click of a button, it will show the other TLD’s available for the domain of your choice.
Don’t Run Another Contest Until You’ve Read This!!!
Here’s a simple script from Jeff that will let you pick a contest winner with credit points. You just have to input the number of tickets the entrant got and the information of the contestant.
So does this mean I don’t have to do those video posts for the contest winners?
It’s Linkbombing Time! – 2/26/08
Looks like loads of domainers will make good money with the new .asia TLD this year. Although the pre-application opened three months ago, this was the first time I heard of it.
The minimum registration is for two years for $40, not bad as a lot of generic names are still available for pre-application at Godaddy – In fact, I’ve ordered 15 pre-applications today.
Learn how to advertise from a 14 year old
Carl Ocab is a great blog to highlight here on Advertising Blogger, specifically because it’s a great example of what you can do online if you work hard and set your mind to it. If a 14-year-old kid can make a ton of advertising cash with a blog—even with school and chores getting in the way—then there’s really no reason why you can’t, too. And no, there isn’t a big secret to how Carl got where he is. He kept blogging, networking, and getting back links, and put together an awesome advertising page that tells potential advertisers how they can benefit from purchasing ads on his site.
Oh c’mon, a few ego strokes a week ain’t bad aye?
An interesting post from Andy Beard about John Reese’s Traffic Jam.

Cashquests Sold For A Monstrous $15,000
Over the past weeks, we’ve heard $6,000 blog sales, $8,500, but this is probably the biggest for this month. Cashquests was sold for a whopping $15,000!
Although I’m not surprised that it has been sold, I’ve had some speculations that it was sold way back when it was still on blogspot because when it transferred to its own domain, everything changed, the design, the feel of the site and even the writer’s voice.
Still it’s a good sell for an 11 month old blog.
PageRank – The Holy Grail of the Lazy
Pagerank, it plagued all blogs, forums and websites. But is it that important? My friend Dean Hunt explains the BIG confusion:
Here is how I see the Pagerank confusion… if a car is your website, and your speed is your success, then the Pagerank is the speedometer. It shows you how fast you are going, and gives an overview of how powerful the car is etc…
However, the webmaster industry see it like this:
The speedometer is what makes the car move.
Not the engine, the wheels etc… it is all about the speedometer.
According to their theories, if you remove the speedometer, then the car will stop. Whereas the reality is that the car will continue to run perfectly, but it won’t be as easy to measure its speed.
The Rivards explain the pure awesomeness of viral marketing. They’ve tried it a few months back and here they are with the results.
Take a look at my recent viral experiment, our iPod Giveaway. It had over 240 entrants, and over 50 bloggers took the time to write about it on their sites. On the graph of RSS subscribers below, can you tell where our contest began?:
wdw rssAs you can clearly see, after the launch of our contest in September, the curve of our RSS count looks a little exponential (and by my definition viral). This is just one simple example of how easy it can be to have something go viral. Take a look at your own site or business and try and find something that works for you.
BlogRush, MyBlogLog, BumpZee, Sphinn & Scratchback – Widget Showdown

When Did You Start Blogging? Carl Started at 13
I know it’s another review of my blog, but this one is pretty unique and got my point. Here’s my favorite part:
You know…I don’t even have to type this section here because you can clearly see what the inspirational message is, but…………..I’m going to continue this and review why I reviewed Carl Ocab. At the age of 14, bringing in a revenue of around $800-1000+, why wouldn’t you want to be like him? I can probably say that people probably think that because of his age, he receives more attention, but that has been proven wrong. His tips and strategies help all of us make money online. There are many that still have doubts that Carl is actually the man behind the blog, but just take a look at it and prove yourself wrong.
