5 Tips To Grab Hold Of Your Focus When Writing

By Carl on January 28, 2008

I’ve heard bloggers writing a single blog post for two to four hours. Boasting aside, I only write mine an hour or two each.

No, I’m not a natural writer. In fact, I’m still having those “Dramatic pause” every minute or so looking for the right word to express my point (That’s because English is not my first language.)

What’s my secret?

Focus.

Do nothing but write the article.

But how do you grab hold of that focus till you finish the article?

Here are my five tips:

1. Turn Off That Music

Do not lower the volume, turn it off!

I’ve had bad experiences with music when writing. In my own experience this is the number one thing that always keeps me out of focus when writing.

The last minute you were writing, the next minute you find yourself singing and swaying with the music.

Now who’s with me?

2. Close Your Email

This one is a killer. Tons of people are…

How To Build Niche Sites With Wordpress

By Carl on January 21, 2008

When I asked the question “What’s stopping you from making money online” to my list I was bombarded with different kinds of answers.

Most common reasons were - not enough money (Which was recycled a lot of times), not enough time, etcetera, etcetera. To those who answered that, watch this video.

Although here’s one thing I can’t blame people about - starting their own Wordpress blog.

If you knew nothing about the internet and you want to make money online using Wordpress, it’s hard to find answers that are detailed enough for you to understand.

So for those newbies who are finding a hard time starting their own Wordpress blog, fear no more. You can grab a copy of Caroline’s free report on how to make money-making niche sites with Wordpress. Don’t worry, no catch on this one :P

The 41 pager report discusses:

  • Chapter 1: Getting and Installing WordPress
  • Chapter 2: Basic WordPress Administration. 10
  • Chapter 3:…

Increasing Your Feed Readers is Easy! How?!

By marko on January 16, 2008

This article is guest posted by Marko

If you are one of those bloggers “stuck” with 7 readers daily, I can really imagine that you were shocked when you saw the title saying that “increasing your feed count number is pretty easy!” Well, here is a fact for you. Generating more RSS subscribers is pretty easy (and fast) when you monetize your blog the right way! Through my blogging days I saw many bloggers crying for RSS readers without even monetizing their blogs the right way. So in order to stop this invasion I’ve made a list of methods, ALL bloggers should use to grow their feed readers. Don’t wait subscribers to “fall off” the sky… Build your list YOURSELF! So how do I build my list? Here’s how:

1. Use Full RSS Feed. Like I do, or any big blogger does use full feed RSS. The last thing I need is…

Cricket - and Blogging?

By siyab on December 10, 2007

This article is guest posted by Muhammad Siyab

Today, I was watching a Test Match against Pakistan and India, when something about something suddenly struck me. It happened continuously throughout the match and I wasn’t able to notice it until after a long time. Read on.

The bowler bowled the ball at the batsman at different angles, different heights, speeds etc. The batsman, using his knowledge and experience, either played a shot or left it. If the batsman played a shot, it either went for runs or no runs. Or the batsman got himself out. I saw a whole thinking process behind all this, which is highly applicable to blogging. Continue reading!

The Process

Before bowling the ball, the bowler set his field up for the batsman, to increase the chances of a catch out or run out. Therefore, the bowler has now laid out the trap for the batsman. Then, when he bowls,…

Get You Mind and Body Right and the Rest Will Follow

By Israel on November 29, 2007

Spending hours upon hours online can take it’s toll on you. To counteract that you should get off of the computer. WHAT?! “But I need to be online in order to make money,” you say. Now I know that most folks are online to get money, but how many are actually being productive? I would think that many online entrepreneurs waste a big chunk of their time when online.

What can you do to make your time online more effective? Make a daily or weekly map of what you plan on doing online. That way you get online and know exactly what you are about to do, instead of procrastinating or letting things distract you. You will be surprised with your efficiency and productiveness. Build that tunnel vision with your time spent online. You can even designate how much time you plan on spending online. This allows you to spend X…

My #1 Advice In Handling Negative Comments

By Carl on November 13, 2007

In my last post (How I made it to the frontpage of Make Money Online) Jochen Van de Velde commented:

Great article, too bad the Digg users flamed you and left negative comments again.

I’m not surprised that Digg users flamed me once more. That’s what they do.

But, how do I handle bad comments, what do I do to surpass them? I’ve got a word for that:

“Ignore”

Possibly the most mature way to do so.

Let’s have a little observation:

What do Bush and Microsoft do when they get negative comments?

NOTHING! They don’t even care about those stuff. There are so many things more important than answering comments.

Think about it, what would happen if you answer this comment? How much time will it consume?

What About YOU?

Well, that’s my advice, what about you? What do you do when you get bad comments on your site, email or etc?
