I checked my feed count this afternoon about 4 PM (We’re in +8 GMT) and was ridiculed by this funny stat showing that my subscriber count was buried down to 290 from 564. Honestly, that shocked me at first as I haven’t posted from the last 2 days, but to think of it, my subscribers aren’t really that mean to unsubscribe that fast (Well I hope so!) as there are days where my blog is in drought longer than this week.

In the hope of another Feedburner hiccup, I visited other top blogs in my niche and viola:

First of all, I have to be honest with you that I don’t totally care about Pagerank. I did a few months ago but when I realized that it was nothing but a number between 1 to 10, it stopped my obsession.

Think about a world without pagerank. No spamming, no blackhat guys, no linktrains, no linkbuying, no linkfarming and no stupid threads on DP people asking when the next pagerank update is. Well then here it is your long awaited pagerank update. It’s not what you expected, didn’t you?

It happened yesterday, October 24 when Google shattered the blogosphere. It was all around. Someone even

Auction Ads, an ebay affiliate middleman have announced that they’re giving away $25 to those new publishers INSTANTLY for FREE. Wow, now that’s an offer that anyone can’t resist.

And before that, they also bumped the affiliate commissions from 2% to 5%. Meaning, if you’ve referred someone and that someone earns, you get 5% of that.

That’s Mediawhiz being sooo desperate for new publishers! Great marketing tactic eh? They did that to text link ads too, giving free $100 worth of free links.

How about the old publishers

I know, I know… don’t worry, you also get the $25. They automatically added it to our accounts. I can see mine here actually.

I know that there are many social bookmarking sites out there with the same niche, but heck? Cool stories can’t be just on one frontpage right?

Is Rick Jerk Going Poor?

According to ShoeMoney, Kelly Felix is selling “The Rich Jerk Empire” for about $8,000,000 (Any takers?) here’s a snip:

Kelly Felix says he is just about bankrupt and hoping to climb out of the hole and even make some profit. The source also says that Kelly blew a ton of investors money buying advertising on Howard Stern and fake commercials/tv spots to make it look like he was rich.

Have you noticed the new ad formats of AdSense yet? Yup! They have updated their old Web 1.0 ad formats Check out the cool screen shot from the AdSense Blog:

Let’s see if this format would increase our CTR. Well, the Google blog said that it the new ad formats are more appealing to readers and also may contribute more to advertisers and publishers, we’ll see about that!

I hope Google would try to consider letting us edit the font of their ad unit, to blend it more on our websites. I hope that comes!
