Don’t Miss Contests – Read, Join And Win With The Prize Blog, The Original Contest Blog
Post sponsored by Brian of The Prize Blog
Contests, probably the most effective of the link baits around. It create buzz, build links and most important of all, give a good heck of traffic! With those benefits around, people just don’t stop launching contests, and if you’re a blogger who often track these, it will be IS a big loss not to join the good ones.
Oh c’mon, don’t be a downer. I’m not done yet! Brian Aldrich just found the right solution for that and unbelievably started a blog only for contests! Yes, no fluff, only contests that you could join in for FREE!
What’s The Prize Blog Again
The Prize Blog has been online since December 2006 (According to its blog archive) and claims itself the original contest blog. With its straight to the point post, you wouldn’t waste time reading and grab more time winning!

And if you’re a blogger who needs some attention, Brian will showcase your contest for – you guessed that right – for FREE! Just buzz him a little and send him a mail.
John Chow’s Avatar?
Recently, John Chow posted his complaints on The Prize Blog’s MyBlogLog profile because it was using his avatar for some reason. Brian explains and confesses in his other blog (Blog Duck) that… it was really stupid.
Good thing Brian quickly changed his avatar back and posted this comment on the specific post:
Hey, I wanted to apologize to anybody who was “deceived.” My intention really was not to impersonate John Chow, but I can easily see how it looks. I did it randomly and I just want to say how sorry I am, not just to John, but all the bloggers who were insulted by that pretty dumb thing I did. Hope you can understand, thanks.
And for a kindhearted (So I guess John isn’t that evil at all!) mogul, here’s a reply:
All is forgiven.
For me, I bet that was just a little experiment that gone a little off. All of us makes mistakes anyway.
The Good and The Bad
The Good:
- Straight to the point posts
- Great work on the design, I love it!
- A very brandable name and domain
- Easy navigation and submission of contest
The Bad:
- Doesn’t give any commentary on the contest (to make posts fun to read)
- Too many categories and some have only a post each
- Messed up sidebar, filled with too many buttons
- Not even fully monetized – Just my 2 cents.
Conclusion
I love it! With its great design and straight to the point post, not to mention it’s the first blog blogging about contests, it got me hooked and it kept me reading to see what contests bloggers are starting today. It’s actually a great site also to find ideas on what to giveaway if you’re planning to start your own.
For me, it’s worth a visit. Though too bad I’m not into contest :D
