While everybody is busy talking about writing a good sales copy and contributing quality contents, and thus evaluated that content is king on the web, Ryan Jackson is busy telling people about the importance of designing your website.
Today, I am going to talk about his Dressed2Convert in this review. But before I move on to talk about it, I think it is worthed mentioning about the man behind the scenes. This review is not as easy to do as many other internet reviews I have done so far. That’s because he has packed with so many goodies inside that I am going through almost every single one of them. Took me quite a while before Carl is going to chase after me for the review. :)
Video Review
Design Guru Ryan
I may not know personally who Ryan is. But his Internet personality on the web is telling me how passionate he is towards web design. The most obvious distinction is with his three famous words “Design Guru Ryan” which never seems to fall apart wherever he goes. I see these three sticky words everywhere I get to bump upon him on the web. A search on the web will reveal how much work he has done to create brand awareness of himself with these three words. I almost thought that is his full name…
He has built a very good Internet branding in all his deliverables. All the ebook, transcripts, audios and goodies I have received for review are packed with his very distinctive blue color and his very unique font type. And I like the way he packaged it, and I feel it is giving a very Web 2.0 feel of graphics over here.
The Friendly Guy You will Never Miss
This picture never fails to appear wherever DesignGuruRyan is around. It’s has become some form of a representation of DesignGuruRyan as he appears in his sales letter to sell his new ebook “dressed2convert“. And there he is again, this guy has appeared in Charles’ online review! :)
In terms of brand awareness, I can’t think of anybody else who is as conscious as he does. And he did a fantastic job in getting himself noticed. And that gives me an idea that Ryan is an expert in giving advices about a good combination of marketing with his web designs.
What Makes Him A Qualified Design Expert?
He has a fantastic background behind which qualifies him to be your expert in web designs. After graduating from the Australian College of Journalism with a Diploma in Illustration, he has been
- working as a graphics reproducer for one of Australian’s biggest book printers (Ryan’s first stint in print and design industry),
- working as a cartoonist for a regional newspaper,
- operating a commercial web design/branding studio,
- establishing himself as Design Guru Ryan
Your Design Knowledge In One Package
Basically, you will get a Dressed2Convert Guide and a series of interviews with many Internet experts. There are quite a lot of goodies for us to savor on to understand fully about designing for our websites. And he believes in giving bonuses on top of his original package. He has some other bonus interviews, he compiles his own Dressed2Convert Rolodex, he provides a bonus sales page template to use immediately, as well as some bonus graphics to use as well. Everything in one package for a price of only $67. I believe it could have worthed more than that easily.
For a person who is being trusted by well-known Internet experts such as Mike Filsaime for his design work, Ryan must have something which is worthy to look at. As we all know, it is not easy to find the right person to work with for your websites to display the way it should to increase conversion rates.
Ryan packaged all the information around his idea about design. The very first of its kind that I have seen who sells such a comprehensive information about packaging your website with great designs.
Dressed2Convert Guide
This e-book basically teaches us about the designs on our landing pages, and how they can affect us in converting our visitors into customers (or sales leads). It is pretty easy to read because the ebook is designed very nicely for its colors, fonts, logo, chapter titles, and everything else that simply makes the book look so creative. And because his expertise is with design, he leveraged to many other specialists for all the rest such as copywriting, conversion, testing, and a host of points necessary to make a website sell.
As for the content of this book, it is also pretty straightforward to the point for us to understand. But because it is straightfoward, you may want to read it twice to get a clearer picture of dressing your website to convert more prospects into customers. It somehow also touches on the topic of copywriting because words and designs are both closely tied together to make up the whole website. While some copywriting books are teaching us what are the words to use in our headlines, Dressed2Convert is however focuses more on things such as the font size. Very interesting niche topic which is overlooked by the copywriting gurus to teach their students.
This book could have been a little crippled without the help of understanding more about other aspects of the website business. That’s because graphics have to work hand-in-hand with other elements on the website to create a complete web business. And that comes with the Interviews with the Internet Experts.
Interviews With Internet Experts
I have been listening to the interviews as part of my bedtime stories with my N95. All the interviewees are very enthusiastic to share their points from their positions as experts. They are only doing what they are good at, and nothing else. And I must say that the real value for buying Design Guru Ryan’s product is with the interviews with all the very successful marketers of their trade. Of all the interviews, I had a special interest listening to Marlon Sauders who was so passionate about graphics, and I do agree with most of his points he was trying to get across. But of course, all the rest of the experts are also giving their points across too.
Dress2Convert Rolodex
With his online browsing experience, he has compiled a pool of resources which is packed with useful links to the various websites he has specially chosen. This is the kind of information we would want to access instantly instead of finding through the websites for them. I had an experience being part of his mailing list that he would introduce really interesting websites every now and then, and I believe it’s from his Rolodex. I don’t have the actual rolodex with me, so I can’t review much about it.
His Sales Letter
From his website, you can see how technical he can go when he has a video that is dedicated to tell us more about what his product can provide solutions to our websites’ design problem. By the way, I personally find the audio quite monotonous. I have a feel it might be read by the computer.
No doubt that he has a lot of beautiful testimonials in the sales letter. It took me quite a while to look though his long sales letter in order to find the list of products he is offering on the front. That’s probably because that list of products are displaying photographs which I thought are another set of testimonials.
Templates For Grab!
I was looking through the templates. They are all looking professional and easy to adapt for your usage. Great for pitching your prospects who are finding a reason to buy from you. The templates are readily available from the start page of selling, to the end page of downloading the product. All the template graphics such as 30-day money back guarantee, buy-now buttons, testimonials, sales letter, squeeze page, etc. Although I find the interviews are well-worthy for the price already, these set of templates should give sufficient reasons for those who are looking for a complete website niche sales solution.
Who is suitable to take up this product?
I don’t believe there is such a one-size-fits-all product out there. Hence, I would think that this product is suitable for those who want to understand how a sales letter work, how the various graphics on your website may affect your sales conversion, how landing pages work to convert your visitors, split-testing and basically all the fundamentals of making a website work. It should be suitable from beginners to immediate where the immediate will still get to learn something involving the graphics in all the different areas which he is already familiar with.
Probably not so suitable for those who are just starting to use Internet though. That’s because there are way too many jargons to take care of and I believe you must at least understand what Internet can do for you.
Conclusion
First of all, I wish to thank Carl for his patience to allow me to take up so much time in listening to all the great interviews, reading the ebook and going through the templates before I started working on the actual review. It took me quite a while to come back again and again to update my review work as I was going through Design Guru Ryan’s products.
This product is basically similar to teaching us what a Marcom is supposed to do. Checking the kind of graphic that we are using, the font type and size that we are using, making sure the message that we send out to the mass is of correct communication. I feel that this is the way we should work things out to create a consistent brand awareness, and to make our sites more talkability.
