Is Your Blog Any Better Than The Next?

Have you ever found yourself wondering why people would ever visit you blog? I mean what makes you blog any different, any better that the many other blogs in your niche? How do you stand out from your competition enough to get noticed?

I would like to share 3 ways that you can use to ‘Stand Out’ from every other blogger!

  1. First To Post
Now this doesn’t mean betting up at so ridiculous hour of the morning and posting so that everyone reads your blog first – I mean it doesn’t even work like that! First to post is where you find out something before every other blogger and you post about it before they all do. I have seen this done with bloggers before and sometimes it just takes one post about something new that everyone wants – and they now have their profile.

I can be difficult to find something unique that no one else knows, so the second best thing to do in this situation is to be ‘one of the firsts’. So although you are not able to write about this new website, product or idea, you get in before the whole niche community finds out.

  2. Be More Entertaining
Has anyone noticed how boring some (or most) blogs can be? I mean its ridiculous! It’s not like you are writing a journal article for some scientific magazine, you are writing for an online readerbase that wants to read an entertaining style of writing. Because if you are writing long and boring articles, chances are over 70% of the article will never get read, because people have short attention spans!
  3. Create Buzz
I think the new JohnCow.com owner has this point down to a ‘t’. The fact that no one knows who the new owner is, has created such a buzz in the online money making blogging community and the statistics of the blog has increased phenomenally since the change of hands. So start thinking up ideas that will get people talking about you.

Carl has done this with his age. Especially when he started, everyone was talking about this new 13 year old blogger and how could he be writing as good as this – that’s creating buzz.

    5. Make sure that you source your info well. If a friend of a friend of a friend thinks that this is happen it probably isnt – I hate misinformation

I have to agree with your #1 First to post as I have recently experienced with one of my posts early morning. Then in less than an hour I had 122 views which is a first since I am not that popular. I am trying to learn on this being the first to post as it works well.

Blogs are very easy to create buzz, which is stupid but anybody can see that creating a list, or controversy is the way to get your blog recognized.

This isn’t good because people with good content may be ignored because people focus on something which is out of the ordinary.
