PLus there are lots of plugins that come with wordpress, especially if you want to start a membership site. you can create one using Wordpres in Minutes. I would recommend using wordpress over blogspot simply due to functionality. i believe that the wordpress format is much more useful and can be tailored more specifically to what you want to see from your site. If you get the site on a dedicated server, you also have access to hundreds of templates. I would go wordpress 100% of the time. @Jose.
