Make your RSS subscribers shoot up with SIMPLE methods
This article is guest posted by Pranav Rastogi.
I am using a couple of simple tricks and plugins to increase my blog’s RSS readers constantly. Today I’m going to show you HOW you can also do it.
Plugins
I have installed a couple of plugins in my Wordpress blog to do the work.
I’ve been using this plugin since 2 weeks till now and it has helped me 90% of the time in getting many RSS feed subscribers. After installing this plugin my feed readers went from 0 to 35 within 2 days of installation. After you have activated MaxBlogPress Stripe Ad plugin, go to Options -> MBP Stripe Ad. Now add a new stripe ad. Make sure that the anchor text(title) draws the attention of your readers, I have added “Subscribe to our FULL RSS Feed for fresh YOGURT!” as the title. In the URL enter your RSS feed url and click “Add”. You can edit how the ad looks, to get maximum subscribers. You can also sell stripe ads with the help of this plugin.
What would Seth Godin do plugin displays a message for first time visitors asking them to subscribe to your blog’s feed. The plugin makes good use of the cookies to show this message to your first time visitors. It places a message in posts(at very beginning or at the bottom) that encourages your visitors to subscribe to your feed. You can also edit the message via your Wordpress Admin Dashboard.
Tips & Tricks
Remind Your Visitors
At the end of each post remind your visitors once again to subscribe to your RSS Feed. If you own a Wordpress blog, then you can easily do it by editing single.php or index.php. Some Wordpress plugins are also available to do this easily. ;) Something like this:

Subscribe To RSS Should Be Above Page Fold
I have added the subscribe to RSS feed button and subscribe via email form above the fold in my blog. This way whenever people visit my blog they’ll see the subscribe to rss feed button and they are likely to subscribe.
Giveaways
Who doesn’t love giveaways? I love free stuff, you also love free stuff. So hold some nice competitions and giveaways. Make sure the prize is good enough. This will attract more people towards your blog.
Full RSS Feed
I advise to provide a full rss feed to your readers. This way they will stay subscribed to your RSS, if you don’t provide full RSS feed then there are very less reasons for them to subscribe via RSS. You can install the Full Text Feed plugin which prevents prevents WordPress 2.1+ and 2.3+ from adding a “more” link to your blog’s RSS feed.
Last but not the least, make sure that your blog’s content is good enough. :)
These are important and simple methods you can apply to increase your blog’s RSS readers.

Thanks
