Producing quality content at a faster pace
As bloggers or writers, it is important that we can churn out blog posts regularly for our blogs- but at the same time give readers top quality solutions to their problems and needs. However, what do we need to do if we want to churn out more content but at the same time not sacrificing the quality of the content? This article will focus on how to increase your productivity levels to write your own unique content at a faster pace for your blog.
You must first understand that the time to produce quality content depends on your topic or subject matter, your experience and knowledge in the topic. The mistake most beginners make is that they try to compare themselves to other bloggers and later on, they try to copy what these top bloggers do.
You should only learn what the top bloggers do, and not copy what they do exactly. Why? It is because our abilities are different- let me illustrate this to you, if you were dumped on a court to challenge a top tennis player, you most likely will have a difficult time keeping up with the game if you are not a professional tennis player yourself. So even with all the determination and motivation at this point, you are not likely to beat a professional tennis player in their game. This is the number one productivity killer for bloggers, trying to achieve something they can’t do yet (i.e. competing with the top bloggers).
How to increase your productivity levels in 4 simple steps
So what you must do is to build up your productivity skills to produce more content. Like a tennis player, you will need to train hard and build your skills from the basics.
Below are four steps to increase your productivity level for writing:
Step 1- The Routine
Always have the routine of writing down the objective of your article. You should at least know why you are writing the blog post. Don’t listen to people who tell you more content means more traffic. If your content is pure junk visitors will only leave your blog, and it doesn’t end there, your business and reputation will be tainted. So before you even start writing a blog post, ALWAYS have the objective of your article- is it suppose to help people stay fit? Then make sure the blog post can help the reader meet that objective.
Step 2 – Develop the Outline
Make sure you review your outline and ask yourself, “is this related to the objective of the blog posts?” It is important to keep on topic, although this may sound simple, it is important to NOT skip this step. You should know this, when you google for something you want to know, and click on a website that doesn’t give you what you want, you immediately click ‘back’. This is what visitors will do if you do not keep your blog post on that specific topic that visitors want.
Step 3 – Time Frames
Start writing and keep to the topic, to ensure your productivity levels are high, have short periods of 20 minutes writing time. Every 20 minutes, stop and take a one minute break, this will help you keep your mind fresh. DO NOT get distracted by anything during that 20 minutes! Be discipline, it’s so easy to procrastinate because the rewards are not immediate.
Step 4 – Review and give a speech
This always works for me, imagine yourself giving a speech to your target audience, and read aloud the blog posts you wrote. Think about how they feel when you are delivering your message. Whether it is 400 words or 4000 words, read your blog post loud and think about what an audience would feel about what you say. Communicating online should be no different from communicating offline, if people don’t want to hear what you say offline, they wouldn’t want to read what you write online. Alternatively, you can also get somebody to read the article and review it for you.
Leaving Your Blog on Autopilot
Imagine if you could just write 1 article per day, from Monday to Friday. By the end of the month you will have 20 articles, and that’s 260 articles in a year! 260 pages of your blog will definitely improve your exposure to the search engines! Why I’m telling you this is because I use to spend so much time looking for internet marketing opportunities out there and I only got bombarded with more and more products from the ‘gurus’. But there is really no secret to marketing your blog, if you have quality content and hundreds of pages, people will come automatically, no need for you to try those ‘new’ Internet marketing tactics to market your blog.
If you follow the 4 step formula above, and keep it consistent for a year, your blog could be left on autopilot by after a year. Just provide what your readers want- solutions! and they will keep coming back to your blog. Just remember the 4 steps above to create a good quality article- and you will in fact give people solutions to their problem and receive a ton of free traffic. In turn you build your credibility at the same time!
Everybody knows that content is important to market our blogs, but the real skill is producing top QUALITY content and at lightning speed. You have to keep practicing to write quality blog posts, but keep raising the bar to write more and more posts for your blog. If you can only write 3 articles per week, then stick to that, don’t force yourself to write more. But set a higher target to write 4 articles the next week, then 5 articles, and keep raising the bar until you achieve your targets. The more pages you have, the more chance your blog will receive exposure from the search engines-; your opt-in list gets bigger and the more your business will grow!
I wish you all the best in marketing your blog/website

Thanks Gerard. I have found the last one definitely to be true. The more you have wrote about, the more people seem to show up at your site. I currently only have about 24 posts and I’m getting good traffic, but nothing close to what it would be a year from now if I continue on.

those e-book from guru are just giving you the false hopes that you could earn a lot in just a short tome.

I agree with your methods, I try and post at lest 4-5 times a week.
I also write down ideas while at work and use the weekends to get my posts together for the coming week.
Great Info!

I love this tip but i have a question, i have plenty of top-quality and insightful article in my blog, my blog-hits is also improving and as I see in Feedjit, several people are reading my posts but I don’t received much comments. What should I do to get a lot of good feedback?
