Quick Stress Reduction For Bloggers
This article is guest posted by Jerry Gabra.
Last month there was an article in the New York Times about a few bloggers who suddenly died. The article read:
Two weeks ago in North Lauderdale, Fla., funeral services were held for Russell Shaw, a prolific blogger on technology subjects who died at 60 of a heart attack. In December, another tech blogger, Marc Orchant, died at 50 of a massive coronary. A third, Om Malik, 41, survived a heart attack in December. -Matt Richtell
Theres no doubt that blogging is a full time job. The long hours, pressure ,and endless decisions make it easy to start but hard to maintain. All bloggers are faced with daily questions like:
- Is this content unique and useful?
- Should i publish now or wait till i can get more info?
- Will this post be interesting?
- Will this new source of monetization work?
- Should i try this or that?

Here are # things that bloggers can do to reduce the stress:
1. Sleeping
This is the number 1 thing that most bloggers lack. Sleep is responsible for restoring and rejuvenating many of our bodies functions such as memory. While you sleep your brain organizes and recover the days memories, and at the rate bloggers learn new things, this is essential to keeping up in the rapidly changing blogosphere.
Solution - Most of us plan to sleep a certain time and end up sleeping much later. Bloggers need to make a schedule for themselves and follow it closely. The hours don’t matter . Just make sure to promise yourself time for relaxation and time away from the computer.
2. Eating
Now that your working at home, you don’t have someone to tell you when lunch break is , this is your own show. But one of two things may happen if you don’t watch yourself. (1) You forget to eat. (2) You overeat.
Solution - Again, create a schedule. If you need to, set alarms to go off for each meal of the day. Eat full and healthy meals. A healthy body means a healthy mind.
3. Organizing
This ties into the first two things very well. By organizing your workspace and activities, you can better keep track of whats going on. Better yet, it’ll be easier to prioritize your daily tasks. Knowing what to do next is a great boulder lifted off your shoulder.
Solution - Use spreadsheets and documents to organize and keep track of your prospects. A desk calender is useful if you have room for it .Also take advantage of online banking if possible.

Let’s not be stupid, when you get tired - you got to stop and take a break. I suggest actually doing something physical, you feel so much better after walking, running, basketball or whatever you like to do physically.
Thank you for useful tips. I’m working a lot and I’m stressed. I’ll try your proposed method, probably I have to improve my sleeping and organizing.
