The Simple Email I Used To Get My Guest Post Accepted On Popular Blogs

By Carl On January 16, 2009 Under ProBlogging Tips

Yesterday, I revealed my step by step plan to “guarantee” your guest post accepted. One of the most curcial steps there is when you contact the blogger…

“What am I going to write in the email?”

“How should I approach them for a guest post?”

“How do I make them read my email?”

These are just some of the most common questions of bloggers when contacting someone – heck, even by non-bloggers. So what I’ll be doing now is I’ll let you swipe the email template I use when submitting a guest post…

The Simple Email I Used To Get My Guest Post Accepted

Hey [name], (IMPORTANT: call them with their first name)

Carl Ocab here, 15-year old blogger over at CarlOcab.com. (Don’t make a live link yet because you want them to keep reading)

I was reading your blog post awhile ago about [topic] and I think [personal thoughts - always positive] (Let them know that you’re a reader, this will force them to reciprocate and finish reading your email)

Anyway, I’d like to put something to you…

You see, the last few weeks, I’ve been checking out what posts on your blog are getting a lot of publicity and comments and I’ve found out that [topic of your guest post] really works well so I used my spare time this weekend to craft an article that I think would be helpful to your community. (Always mention the benefit for them, not the other way around)

The article is attached. (.txt format folks! Not everyone has MS word)

If you have other ideas or need of certain topic for a post, I would be delighted to help and fill it up for you.

Thanks!

Talk to you soon and God bless,
Carl Ocab

To Wrap It Up

  1. Greet with the first name
  2. Introduction of who you are
  3. Tell them that you care, be personal and force them to read your email
  4. Benefit for them
  5. Thanks

That’s it, you’re good to go!

Anyway I’m glad that I’m getting the hang of blogging again so 4 posts/7 days challenge – CONQUERED.

I STILL CAN’T COMPLETELY GRASP THE IDEA THAT YOU ARE A 14 YEARS OLD…. I MEAN WHEN I READ YOUR CONTENT, I CAN’T IMAGINE IF OTHER GUYS WITH MORE YEARS ON THIS PLATFORM CAN PRODUCE QUALITY CONTENT LIKE YOURS.
    YOU ARE INCREDIBLE
I WISH YOU EVEN MORE SUCCESS IN YOUR LIFE.

    Hi Carl,

Wow, you’re 15 years old? That alone would get any blogger’s attention. Well done, and you have a great blog and a great future!
