What is a ShoutBox?

By Carl on February 15, 2007

This night I found a new plug-in for wordpress called wordspew. Wordspew is a free chat box/ shoutbox that is powered by AJAX. What is good about this is because it’s free and it has an anti-spam protection for your chat box.

ShoutBox, what is it really for?

At first you can tell that it is used to communicate with the readers of the blog. Yes, that’s true but did you know that it can also add traffic to your site? It can add traffic because when you have a shoutbox people keep on coming back to see what’s new or what is the latest message in your shoutbox. It is really proven that it can really add traffic to your site.

You maybe asking where to get these shoutboxes or chat boxes. There are many kinds of shoutboxes that are available and free. Examples are cbox, ajax shoutbox and etc.

So in overall shoutboxes are used to:

  • Communicate with other readers
  • Add traffic to your site
  • Gives design to your site

Ok, so that’s all about shoutbox. I hope you have understood the uses of shout boxes.
