I have my articles dugg regularly and to be honest the traffic Digg sends is not exactly profitable. I had 25000 from digg in one day with one of my articles and my adsense income only went up 10 - 20$.

I guess you can always pick a few readers from it though!

I believe points 4, 6 & 7 need to be emphasised especially in Big Web2.0 sites like Digg. Spammers really irk the faithful diggers and they really won't hesitate to dump you or even to bury your submits. Building up a good network of friends and showing them that you're willing to vote up their submits is really important. With a network of about 100 friends, I can easily get 40 diggs in 24 hours, but it doesn't stop there. You can ask them to show out your submits and that's where it get viral... and hopefully, lands on the FP (front page) of Digg. Massive traffic will follow.

Nice article, have been reading your stuff and i did apply it.! These are the basic things that must be followed without fail. The important thing is your consistency! Ask yourself how consistent you are!!

Using images to help readers rest their eyes rather than scrolling and scanning can help too. Visitors from social media have short attention span. They want lengthy blog posts (those seem to have higher perceived value and more useful) so every action to slow them down can help them grasp more of your content.

Of course, your ultimate goal is to encourage them to take action.

Interesting points and the 'top 10' tip is something I shall certainly consider. I wanted to just pick up briefly on the 'self-submit' advice in point 6. I do agree with the conclusion but I also suspect there is a lot of 'shill-submit' i.e. having more than one digg account with a handy alias to make it look like diggs are not coming through self-submit. I must admit I also tend to digg more articles from recognisable and trusted domains.
