Just 4 months of blogging with 2 months of SEO, I’m finally near my goal. My blog is sitting under page 2 of Google.com results with the keyword “make money online� just beside 2 net legends! Check out the screenshot:
And when I checked on google.com.ph (My country 
) I ranked no. 8 on the first page! Wow, my hardwork really does pay off.
Anyway, if you haven’t noticed, John Chow’s blog ranked down to no. 38 with the same keyword. So is this a new algorithm? Or just John Chow bombing Google?
Errr… Google bomb?
If you still don’t know. Google ranks sites higher if there’s an anchor text used. For example, 30 sites links to you with an anchor text of “Handsome� Chances are, Google will should rank you higher for that keyword.
Of course, if you abuse this, Google will flag you. You know what happens when Google flags a site 
So it’s really handy to vary your anchor text, so Google won’t flag you and hey, you might as well rank high on those “other� anchor texts! More explanations via Wikipedia.

5 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Blogging
Many bloggers think that blogging is easy as a piece of cake and Many bloggers think that they can get rich via blogging in just a matter of months. But are you sure that those are true? Check out these 5 things I’ve compiled when I was doing my morning ritual (Again Hehehehe ). You probably didn’t know about these things:
1. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme
Most people think that if they blog and post everyday, they’ll get rich quick (Because they see a lot of problogger’s income increasing every month). But the truth is, you won’t. Blogging isn’t a “get rich quick scheme� If you want some proof, dig the archives of those money making blog and you’ll see that they were blogging for years. Yes, years with the “s� not months, not a year, but YEARS.
2. It’s not that easy to blog
I confess, I thought blogging was easy when I first started. I thought that all it takes is to write an article everyday and post it. But after months of blogging, I started receiving mails, comments and questions that need to be answered. It always took me half an hour everyday answering those mails and e-mails. What more if you have been blogging for years?
3. Blogging won’t make you that rich
Yes, you can earn decent amount of income through blogging but it WON’T make you rich. Just imagine how much you earn through AdSense in a blog, about $1 per day for 500 unique visitors? $10 per day for a popular blog? IMO That isn’t enough.
For me, blogging is just a way popularizing your self.

4. Admit it, it’s addicting to blog
When you get the hang of it, more likely you’ll get addicted. You check your stats every minute, you change your theme once in a while, you check your admin panel for new comments, new links, etc…
What’s the use of all of those?! When you can just write an article? Or you could build links? What I mean in here is that you should have a schedule. Probloggers do it. Successful bloggers do it and you too should do it!
5. Blogging is a Sport
The longer you play, the better you get. Blogging is just like a sport. You blog more, you get better more.
If you want to be a Problogger, you will need to practice. But remember, it takes longer than you expect just like sports. It takes years to excel in a specific niche.
Conclusion
Blogging is not a “get rich quick scheme� like what most people think, because it takes time to blog. You can get burned out in the middle of your success so it requires guts to blog for years. And most of all, blogging won’t make you filthy rich. You could get rich, but not filthy. All in all, like what most internet marketers think of blogging. It’s just a way of popularizing your self.

John e-mailed me a while ago asking me on how did I place AdSense to my WordPress blog. Too bad John didn’t have a site to show me. Anyway I’ll post here my tutorial on how to add Adsense into a WP blog.
Adding AdSense After Post Titles
Let’s go on the basics first. For example: You want to add a 336 x 280 AdSense block below you post title. Open your index.php then look for the part that looks like this:
And if you want to wrap that block, like most blogs do. Add a div into the Adsense code that may look like the one below:
Just adjust the margin that suits your blog design best and of course you could also change the float to “left” or “right”.
Some have situations adding an AdSense unit on their first post but not on the second (I used to do this before ) to do that, open your index.php then look for something like this:

Then place this on the part that says “****Your Adsense Code goes here****“

Adding AdSense After Every Entry
If you want to place an Adsense block every after your entry ( Like what I have — for now ) You will need to open your index.php then look for this part:
And if you want, you can also add a center tag to make it look more decent.
Adding AdSense to Single Posts
If you want AdSense only in your single posts. Open your single.php then look for something like this:

Adding AdSense Before your Header
Lastly, if you want to add an AdSense unit before your header (Like b5media blogs, etc.)
Open your header.php and look for a code like the one below:
Easy!
But still if it’s that hard for you to integrate AdSense units to your WordPress blog, there’s always a plugins to the help.
