Guess What? G Updated Again! and I Got a…

By Carl On April 29, 2007 1 Comment

After getting burned by the sun at Puerto Galera and after surviving the long travel getting there and going back to our place, I was surprised seeing Dylan’s post saying that I got a PR 4 (Wow! Another Blog Goal achieved) Of course, I rushed to iwebtool and checked my PR for sure. As for now, Some toolbars says it’s zero but some says I got a PR 4, I think some of the toolbar are still not updated. Anyway, I got a PR 4! Yippeeeeeeeeee!

PageRank - Make Money from Home

Why Am I so Happy?

Why? Think about these:

  • More reviews on reviewme
  • More comments, of course many want to get on the top commentators list because of the PR 4 link
  • I Get approved by TLA!! I wasn’t approved before because they don’t approve sites with no/low PR

Thanks to G for the Long-awaited PR update! Congrats also to other bloggers who got their first PR! Keep on blogging!

5 Reasons Why People Don’t Read Your “Make Money Online” Blog (Probably)

By Carl On April 27, 2007 3 Comments

Do you have a “make money online” blog? Having no readers recently? Getting poor traffic? Check out these 5 common mistakes that most “make money online” bloggers do.

1. Your blog is hosted free by blogger – Your readers would ask you, “Why would I read this blog? He can’t even buy his own domain and host it! If you’re honest and smart, you could talk away this issue, remember you have to have “the guts Another solution to this is to buy your own domain and host it, don’t worry it’s only cheap :)

2. You claim something that you’re not – “Hey! Look at me! I’m rich! I make thousands of dollars per month, I’m better that you! You’re not the rich jerk (at least the rich jerk tells the truth because Kelly Felix really makes tons of $$$ per month). Don’t tell lies to your readers, you may lose their trust! So what’s the sense of reading your blog if they don’t believe you anymore? Remember that honesty is the best policy  , always tell the truth, Look at kumiko, and daryl I love their styles! Honest on telling their weekly income and not faking it.

3. Excessive ads – Yes, ads are okay, but don’t put too many. Honestly, last week I have this issue; many people were e-mailing me telling me “Hey Carl, don’t you think you got too many ads on your blog? That’s why I redesigned my blog and took out the ineffective ads.

4. Messy template – It’s more like the “excessive ads thing but the difference is it’s your template. Don’t make messy templates that make your readers dizzy just by looking at it. Make them clean and organized. Even I hate messy templates. You know things going around the content, flashy designs that distract readers’ eyes. If I were you I would try to avoid them.

5. It’s not in you! – Well, if you were on this niche for quite a while and still not getting any fans, readers and/or visitors, I think it’s time to ask your self “Do I know what I’m talking about? Do I have the guts for this? Don’t be dumb blogging for no one. Always monitor your blog if it’s effective or not.

This is a timestamp post. FYI, I’m on vacation! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Make Money Online – Batch 4, Wheew!

By Carl On April 26, 2007 No Comments

Wow… I didn’t expect this! Someone still reviews my blog! Yey! I love reviews, their reviews (and of course, if you would review my blog, I will also love that too ;-) )I got these three fabulous reviews yesterday:

Work at Home Entrepreneur Blog – Meet Azmi, owner of desinotes.com, a Bengali-American from South Asia. I was really astonished by his traffic surge this Monday. According to Azmi it’s because of this post. Well, it’s the wedding of one of the prettiest woman in the world! His traffic got up from 400 to 4k! Wow! Congrats to you dude! Hope you can maintain that. – A 13-year old Making Mad Money

Grow Your Writing Business – A new copyblogger? She’s Yvonne Russell, A freelance copywriter. Thanks to her, I’ll be launching a new feature to my blog soon!

I love the way she writes (well, that’s what copywriters are supposed to have, great writing skills), She does it very naturally. I love this post… Made me laugh, I just hope earning six figure income is just that easy! – Let a 13 Year Old Blogger Show You How to Make Money Online

Mike’s Money Making Rants & Raves – A blogger who blogs on how to make money online and an artist too?! Yehp! You read that right, here’s Michael’s blog. He earns a pretty decent amount for starters. Well, Good luck Michael! – Money Making Online with a 13 Year Old Rave

And Good Luck to you all

Make Me Happy, Review My Blog!

It’s simple; just give me a short review (at least 30 words) linking to my homepage, having an anchor text of “make money online Please don’t make crappy reviews and be sure it is worth linking to ;-) Here’s a sample review:

I witnessed a 13-year old kid who can make money online! He blogs at carlocab.com and he is inviting you to review his blog for a free linkback and a chance to win a copy of his upcoming E-Book!

After you made your review, e-mail me the link of your review and the anchor text that you want me to put linking to your blog’s homepage. Every after 30 reviews, I will pick a raffle winner and he wins my free e-book! Remember, this is also your chance to get a backlink on Technorati’s top 14,268 blog!

Atlast! Internet!

By Carl On April 25, 2007 No Comments

Just a quick post.

The last 2 days we were having some problem with our internet connection, I just want to say sorry to those e-mails that I wasn’t able to reply and for delayed approval of your comments. Sorry again for not posting. It was an unexpected internet connection problem, that’s why I wasn’t able to future timestamp my post.

10 Killer Ways to Forum Success!

By Carl On April 25, 2007 3 Comments

I realized yesterday that, hey I have not yet discussed anything about forums on my blog yet! Well, maybe it’s time to post one! So, how’s this for a start?

Love first, then money – You start a forum with your passion. I mean, man! Forums need a lot of work! You gotta moderate it, update, delete spammers, etc.. So passion will be the one to maintain your work because you like what you’re doing. Then comes the money, after receiving thousands of visitors per day through your hardwork. Now comes the time to monetize it.

P.S. It depends on you if you want to start with your passion. You could start a forum without your passion and pay someone else to work on it ;-)

Controversy is the key – Make your community members argue with each other which can attract other readers to join and argue more! Hehehehehe

Unique – You know that the internet is a wide, wide place that has so many blogs, forums and websites. But how could you stand out?! Of course, if you’re unique, you could. Try having different forum rules or design that may attract more members.

Attract experts – The more experts you have in your forum, the more people will join cause many people love to talk to experts, well, who doesn’t? Talking to experts is a great honor. I think you got the point, but how could you attract experts? Let’s say, it’s a win-win situation. They join your forum, you advertise them. Sounds great?

Active Mods – Do you like a forum with no active mods? Where people could bump there thread whenever they like? Where people could spam someone and no one to ask help with? Of course NOT! That’s why mods should always be active; you could hire them, or just give the job for free. Just be sure that they are active in the forum, that they are visible so people have the comfort that they can ask help anytime.

Don’t over moderate! – Yes, it’s good to moderate. Filter out threads that don’t go on the right category, give warnings to members that have done something wrong but please don’t over moderate your forum. People may feel over secure when times, which is bad. Yea, make them feel secure but not much, you may lose them. Just try to be friendly and give chances to newbies ;-)

Turn on the heat! – If the forum is getting cold, then it’s likely to die. Try giving out contest or something that would make your members active. Give them bonuses if they have 100 of posts, you know, contests like that.

Give a sub-forum for off-topic discussion – A guru can’t work the whole day you know! Give them time to relax and talk about things that they like. Opening an off-topic forum is pretty good and most likely help you to grow your community. Also, this will help them make new friends and partners ;-)

Try to always Participate – Like what I said above, it would be good if you have the passion on the topic of your forum. It will make your participation easier. Well, if you can’t give the mods some jobs and let them. It’s always nice to have some expert participating and teaching newbies.

Welcome Members
– Have you seen sub forums like “New Member’s Introduction? Well, actually this may help too. It just feels so good when someone welcomes you with warms and love (hehehehe). I mean, would it be good joining in to a forum without getting noticed? That’s why the “New Member’s Introduction sub-forum may always come in handy.

That’s it! Hope you like my tips. Comments and suggestions are warmly welcomed ;-) Add something if you have one.
